Castlevania Fans Aren’t Happy With Dead By Daylight’s Plot Teases

Dead by Daylight is known for its crossovers, having previously included characters from Tomb Raider, Alan Wake, Dungeons & Dragons and more in its various multiplayer modes. The latest crossover from developer Behaviour Interactive is with Castlevania, Konami's legendary gothic series.

To say Castlevania fans are starving would be an understatement. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was released over a decade ago, and the reception was middling. This hasn't stopped Konami from lending Castlevania to other titles, such as V-Rising and now, Dead by Daylight.

The Castlevania crossover adds Count Dracula, arguably the strongest character in the entire Castlevania series, and Trevor Belmont, the first person to have ever defeated the Count. It makes sense that these two natural enemies were chosen to represent the Castlevania series.

It's not enviable for Castlevania fans to receive new content through crossovers with no news of a new Castlevania game on the horizon. There's a certain passage in Dracula's description in Dead by Daylight that has irked sections of the Castlevania fandom.
