Just when you thought CD Projekt RED was done with Cyberpunk 2077 updates, the developers revealed a surprise content drop. Update 2.5 is inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the Netflix-exclusive series set in Night City, and it arrived just in time for the debut of Season 2 of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
The announcement artwork showed V back-to-back with the anime character, Weak Kingsley, from Cyberpunk Edgerunners, before a REDstreams broadcast revealed more details before the update went live.
CD Projekt RED has secretly released The Witcher 3 items in Cyberpunk 2077 as part of Update 2.5. If you wanted a taste of The Witcher 3 in Night City (if you didn’t have a mod installed for it already), the official items subtly bring the two worlds together.
Cyberpunk 2077 already has numerous The Witcher 3 Easter eggs in the base game and Phantom Liberty DLC. The latest additions are two new melee weapons for you to try out on your foes, and clothing based on the game.
Just like the update mainly celebrating Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, CD Projekt RED recently launched The Witcher 3 Remastered, so it’s perhaps a fitting time to bring these items to Cyberpunk 2077....
