Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and its enhanced version, Encore, are two games that are forever likely to be stuck on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Atlus, the game utilizes its typical style and adds a range of Fire Emblem characters for the ultimate crossover. Unfortunately, because of those Fire Emblem characters, the game will never leave Nintendo's platforms.
With a new wave of PC ports dropping, no thanks to "vibecoding" (bleugh), Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is breaking free from its Nintendo prison, with a PC version "done soon".
Vibecoding (yuck) has turned the decompiling world on its head. Usually, fans have to decipher a game's binary code manually, turn it into C++, and then complete the port. AI is doing the hard work for people. In the last six weeks, we've seen games like Super Mario Galaxy and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 get PC versions, and titles like Need for Speed Underground 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved become fully playable in-browser. The latest game to receive this treatment is Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore.
It could soon be harder for people to develop these ports as AI systems start to run scared of copyright infringement....
