Nintendo has announced an Indie World Showcase, which will take place on Wednesday, October 28. Since the original Switch launched in 2017, the Nintendo eShop has hosted a massive number of games from indie studios. The company has actively looked for ways to highlight its indie partners over the years, and Indie World Showcase events are a big part of that strategy. The livestreams give the company the opportunity to make several new announcements without the fan expectations of a traditional Nintendo Direct.
Nintendo takes it back to 1998 for the Switch 2 remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, paying tribute to a commercial released for the N64 version.
Nintendo's next Indie World Showcase will stream on the company's official YouTube Channel, and it's expected to last for about 15 minutes in total. The presentation will highlight games on the way for both the original Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. At this time, Nintendo has not revealed any of the games that will be shown during the event. However, it's possible the showcase could feature a mix of new games, and indie games getting Nintendo Switch 2 editions.
