Star Wars Outlaws might have a Wanted system that's similar to Grand Theft Auto, but don't expect Kay Vess to be shooting or stealing from friendly NPCs.

Although it's fair to say that most of us were expecting Star Wars Outlaws to follow a very similar pattern to other open-world games from Ubisoft, that's actually not the case. While there are some mechanics that anyone who has played Far Cry or Assassin's Creed will find familiar, it manages to stray away from that formula and do its own thing, while incorporating features from other open-world titles.

Star Wars Outlaws does a lot to distance itself from Ubisoft’s standard formula, but its Expert missions are its biggest trump card.

One of those games is, surprisingly enough, Grand Theft Auto. If you're caught doing crimes in Star Wars Outlaws, a massive "Wanted" symbol will flash on your screen and the Empire will hunt Kay and Nix down. We saw a glimpse of this during the gameplay reveal trailer, but it turns out that's about as similar to GTA as things can get.
