The Game Awards have arguably become the biggest single night in gaming since E3 closed its doors, bringing in game studios of all shapes and sizes to tease their upcoming projects while celebrating what the industry has accomplished over the year. It's been a rough one, but the folks behind the celebration always manage to bring an optimistic spin.
With the December 10th kickoff rapidly approaching, tickets have launched for in-person seating at this year's Game Awards, set at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. As the months before the event slip away, discussion has started in earnest about what the prospective winners could be, even as some are yet to drop.
Lining Up the Heavy Hitters
The biggest discussion of the event, of course, is centered around the prospective Game of the Year winner, even if GTA 6's approaching release makes it a clear contender. The game making the cut at all was a nail-biter, but the cutoff date managed to catch the game in the running, giving Rockstar's baby guaranteed stage presence.
Other contenders are a bit more exciting to talk about, with Control: Resonant and Resident Evil Requiem as my personal submissions....
