The ninth generation of Pokémon has almost come to an end with the first game in its tenth generation, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, expected to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 some time in 2027. Until then, however, more recent entries, such as Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet are still welcoming in legions of fans and with another freebie up for grabs, there has never been a better time to play.
First released back in 2022, Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet have received plenty of post-game content such their release, including post-game expansions, DLC, an expansion pass storyline, and much more. However, when it was first launched, the first games celebrating Pokémon's ninth generation were met with mixed reviews, with criticism for their technical problems.
Those issues did not affect our very own Cody Gravelle, who awarded Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet a near perfect 9/10 in their review here at Screen Rant. They wrote:
