You Can Now Explore Wii Sports Resort's Wuhu Island On Foot

If you played Wii Sports Resort as a child, chances are you were disappointed that you couldn't break free from the confines of each minigame and go explore the entirety of Wuhu Island, the tropical paradise in which most of the minigames are set. It was always torture as a kid to see the big city in the distance while participating in archery or that fantastic sword fighting minigame, yet not being able to go see what's up.

Thankfully, one fan called AtomicLugia appears to have shared that same dream, and has actually managed to put together a version of the game with the Unity engine called Wuhu Island Explorer, which lets players explore the island with no time limits or restrictions. Wuhu Island Explorer lets you run around the titular island to your heart's content, and you can even swim around and dive under the ocean too.

With Echoes of Wisdom and Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo is selling Zelda games on the mechanics.

Of course, the original Wuhu Island wasn't meant to be explorable, and would obviously be a bit tricky to play through had the entire thing just been ripped from the game and made playable, so...
