Rollerdrome Dev Wants Players To Pirate The Game

Rollerdrome launched two years ago today and was met with positive reviews across the board. It was nominated for a Golden Joystick and later won a BAFTA for best British game. However, for whatever reason, things don't seem to have gone well for developer Roll7 since then, as no games have launched since.

It was previously reported that Roll7 is being shut down by Take-Two, a claim that the company has denied. However, the Twitter account for the studio has been inactive since April, since Take-Two rolled out company-wide layoffs, sparking further fears that it's been shuttered.

Now, it's clearer that not all is well behind the scenes, as one of the developers of Rollerdrome says that no one who worked on the game is at the company anymore. Due to this, she encourages anyone interested in playing it to pirate the game, since the devs have no ownership over it any way.

"Happy two-year anniversary to my favourite game that I worked on," says Anisa Sanusi, former senior UI/UX designer. "Please pirate it because none of us work at the company that owns this anymore."
