Geoff Keighley has gotten ahead of the inevitable disappointment and confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong won't be shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

It's been a very sleepy Summer season for gaming, but that's all about to change in a few days thanks to Gamescom Opening Night Live, which goes live on August 20. Although there are a bunch of upcoming games that we're all hoping will show up (Kingdom Hearts 4, come on Geoff), there's one that everyone's got their fingers crossed for - Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The games industry is built on hype, so most-anticipated games like Hollow Knight: Silksong will always exist.

It's been an incredibly long road for Hollow Knight fans ever since Silksong was announced all the way back in 2019. Aside from an infamous trailer at Xbox's Summer Showcase that promised it would release in 2023 (it didn't), we've barely seen anything of Silksong, something that fans hoped would finally change on Tuesday.
