Tarsier Studios has announced the studio's newest title, Reanimal, a co-op-focused fantastical horror adventure.
Reanimal was announced during tonight's Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2024. At first glance, Reanimal may remind you of Tarsier's other horror series, Little Nightmares, but according to the developers, the creative direction is very distinct.
Renaimal is intended to be a more sinister experience than Little Nightmares and one that resembles more closely the darkness of the real world. You play as two orphaned siblings who are searching for their missing friends on a terrifying island.
The name of the game, as well as the promotional material, suggests a setting where monstrous animals roam free. As in Little Nightmares, the player characters feel very small and vulnerable in a large and dangerous world.
One of the themes of Reanimal is adventure, Tarsier is trying to instil a sense of wonder and adventure in players in addition to fostering an ominous and tense atmosphere. With this in mind, you'll be able to traverse the game's island via land and sea. There are sections of Reanimal where you'll be able to hop in and pilot a boat.
