Capcom Unveils New Creatures For Monster Hunter Wilds At Gamescom

Capcom is a master of generating hype, and the excitement surrounding Monster Hunter Wilds is palpable, thanks to its latest trailer.

The trailer was first shown on the Gamescom main stage and can now be viewed on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel:

The footage is less than three minutes long, but there's so much to see, including the reveal of two monsters.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the terrifying new arachnid monster, Lala Barina. This monster is fast, and Capcom nailed the insect-like movement. You can see the Lala Barina give a Hunter a nasty stab at 27 seconds in, which launches them across the arena.

If you plan to swat up on Monster Hunter before Wilds releases, choosing between Rise and World is the toughest decision.

We can only speculate, but the monster spawns a rose-like plumage on its back that throws red spores everywhere. Status effects are pretty common in Monster Hunter, so this is likely a vessel for those.

There's also a quick glimpse at the insect mounting another monster at 40 seconds, showing that monster interactions are alive and well in Wilds.
