We got a look at Batman: Arkham Shadow's first-look gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live. The upcoming VR title will allow players to take the role of Batman and punch, glide, jump, and dive into shadows exclusively on Meta Quest 3.

The two-minute gameplay trailer showcases The Dark Knight's wide arsenal of gadgets and weaponry and highlights his hand-to-hand combat.

From dodging and punching to tossing Batarangs mid-fight, it seems like Arkham Shadowaims to encapsulate the core mechanics of the franchise's arguably best game, Batman: Arkham Asylum.

The developer also states this on the game's page on Meta Store, highlighting that the developer ''Camouflaj has reimagined the core Arkham experience...drawing particular inspiration from Batman: Arkham Asylum.''

In addition to drawing inspiration from it, Batman: Arkham Shadow also takes place before the events of Arkham Asylum and is positioned right after the occurrences of Arkham Origins.

This period aligns with Bruce Wayne's introduction to the role of The Dark Knight, patrolling the streets and rooftops of Gotham City. As the young Batman, his mission is to take down the villain Rat King and his crazed cultists, who roam the city and wreak havoc.
