Fatshark has announced that Warhammer: Vermintide 2's long-awaited Versus Mode has been released into open beta.
Versus was first announced back in 2019 and is now finally available to try. It's a 4v4 PVP+E game mode where teams alternate between playing as the Ubersreik Five and the Pactsworn. Each member of the former has highly customisable builds so players can pursue their unique playstyles.
The Pactsworn will be able to utilise the full arsenal of the Skaven's special classes, meaning you can play as a Ratling Gunner, Packmaster, Gas Rat and so on. It's going to be exciting to see how the meta plays out and which specials end up being the most powerful.
The mode itself is a sort of streamlined version of PvE Vermintide 2, the Ubersreik Five have objectives to complete and the Pactsworn team must foil them. According to the beta announcement trailer released by Fatshark, regular Vermintide 2 maps have been modified to make them more appropriate for PvP gameplay.
