Final Fantasy developer Naoki Yoshida has shared some encouraging news for Xbox users. Square Enix is now interested in bringing more Final Fantasy titles to Microsoft’s consoles.
The Final Fantasy brand, a cornerstone of the Japanese role-playing game genre, has traditionally been associated with Sony’s PlayStation platforms.
While a few titles have made their way to other platforms like PC, Xbox has not been a primary focus for the series. However, that seems to be changing.
During a conversation with Eurogamer at Gamescom, Yoshida — director of Final Fantasy XIV and producer of Final Fantasy XVI, also known as “Yoshi-P” — shed light on this shift.
Yoshida hinted that more Final Fantasy games could be coming to Xbox in the future. This follows the recent release of Final Fantasy XIV's on Xbox.
Yoshida revealed that Square Enix is moving towards releasing the Final Fantasy series “on a multiplatform basis.” This move will ensure that Xbox users can also enjoy future installments in the iconic series.
While no specific titles or release dates have been confirmed yet, it’s exciting news for fans eager to see more Final Fantasy on Xbox.
