Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 Drops On PC Next Week, Delayed On Console

Baldur's Gate 3's long-awaited Patch 7 is going to be with us very soon, as Larian reveals that it's dropping on PC next week. The console and Mac release has been delayed, however, as mod support isn't quite ready on these platforms.

Patch 7 will release the modding tools to the public, and make it easier to install mods on PC. Once the patch is live on all platforms, it will finally let console players use mods for the first time, which will give us access to a selection of fan creations.

Larian's masterpiece is going to stick around for a very long time.

"Patch 7 is coming out next week," announces Larian boss Swen Vincke, speaking at PAX West. "We're going to be putting a lot of attention on the modding community that's been helping us [with] the mods that we can officially support."

Vincke continues, explaining the reason for the delay on other platforms. "Our goal is to do cross-platform modding support, which is not the easiest thing in the world because we have to make it work on console and on PC," he says. "We'll start with the PC version.
