This differentiates the title from its predecessors, where you had to complete the entire game to unlock harder modes.
The news is a breath of fresh air for series veterans, many of whom would prefer a more challenging experience.
People initially spotted this new feature during PAX West 2024, during the game's first official demo.
As you can see in the image below, the players can now select between the Normal Mode and Hero Mode when starting a new story.
It's worth mentioning this is just one of numerous additions, making The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom one of the more unconventional titles in the series.
For example, the new games allow you to control Princess Zelda and enjoy paragliding over luscious Hyrule.
The way we see it, there are no drawbacks to this new feature as it gives something for both franchise newbies and grizzled veterans.
