Darkest Dungeon 2 Kingdoms Update Split Into Three Parts, First Due in Q4 | TechRaptor

Red Hook Studios has announced that the upcoming Darkest Dungeon 2 Kingdoms update, which is set to add a brand new mode to the game and more, will in fact be split into three parts.

In a development update on Steam, Red Hook says that the update will be released "in thematic modules", each of which will focus on a different threat for your heroes to face down. The first of these threats will apparently be "rotting, ravenous beastmen".

This first module, titled "Hunger of the Beast Clan", is due sometime in the fourth quarter of 2024, although we don't know exactly when just yet. Red Hook does say it'll share more about this update on its socials soon, though, so it likely won't be long until we find out.

Darkest Dungeon 2's Kingdoms update was first revealed back in April, and it's aiming to combine Darkest Dungeon 2's combat and traversal with the first game's "permanence and roster management".

Despite being entirely free, the update will bring a whole new campaign experience to the game; Red Hook says it'll offer a "completely reimagined" gameplay style that runs parallel to the base game's Confessions campaign.
