Astro Bot has been out for all of three days and people are desperate for more (it's me, I'm people). Hailed as one of the best platformers since Super Mario Odyssey, developer Team Asobi's first fully-fledged non-VR Astro game is a monumental hit, but they're not done with the game just yet.
In an interview with YouTuber Quest Daily, studio director Nicolas Doucet revealed that free DLC is "gonna come this year", adding more challenging time trials to unlock new VIP bots.
Twisted Metal's Sweet Tooth and the titular Fat Princess were considered during development (as seen in a VGC video) — perhaps they'll finally make their debut in the DLC.
"It will be focusing on one of the features that people enjoyed in Playroom - that was the speedruns," Doucet explained. "There were some speedruns and you could deliver it quite short and keep replaying and shave time off... with some new VIP bots to rescue, some characters that we didn't include yet will appear. That's going to focus really on kind of challenging levels."
Doucet stressed that the DLC will be "small", but he also said that Team Asobi is considering something more approachable on top of...
