Sony's CEO Kenichiro Yoshida has revealed that the company is indeed working on the next console to succeed the PlayStation 4. Before you start thinking "PlayStation 5", don't. Yoshida didn't even call it a PlayStation, though it's reasonable to assume that it will be given the iconic nature of the brand itself.
GamesIndustry is reporting that Yoshida made the following comment to the London Financial Times: "At this point, what I can say is it's necessary to have a next-generation hardware." Take that for what you will, but at least we know that Sony is hard at work to be prepared for the end of the typical life cycle of the PlayStation 4 -- but we won't be looking for it any time soon.
