Skyrim has plenty of treacherous mountain paths full of nasty creatures to try and traverse, but the 7,000 Steps to High Hrothgar is known in-game as one of the most brutal treks one can undertake. Almost all of you reading probably dashed up those steps on your first playthrough - with a brief pause to get battered by an Ice Troll - only to make it to High Hrothgar in minutes and wonder what all the fuss was about.

You'd be singing a different tune if you actually had to physically walk 7,000 steps to get to the home of the Greybeards, which is exactly what YouTuber ShakeMistake did in one of his most recent streams. Yes, in an effort to see just how difficult the climb to High Hrothgar would be for your average Dragonborn, Shake Mistake put his own physical wellbeing on the line.
