Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is already off to an impressive start. The title survived a review-bombing campaign and was subsequently confirmed as Steam's most-played Warhammer game of all time.
Tyranids have officially breached the battle barge.
The milestones don't stop there, though, as the latest title in the Warhammer franchise, developed by Saber Interactive, has had the tenth-biggest launch of any game this year on the Valve-owned platform.
According to SteamDB, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launched with a whopping 225,690 concurrent players on Steam, the tenth-highest of 2024. Given that it's a fairly niche IP and that it was up against some behemoth releases, it's an impressive stat.
Of course, the game fell behind Black Myth: Wukong, which had the biggest single-player player count of all time, but many of the other titles it faced were from established franchises or free-to-play games.
