Lost Professor Layton Mobile Game Discovered On Old Phone After 16 Years

A copy of Professor Layton and the Mansion of the Deathly Mirror has been discovered on an old mobile phone by a game preservationist (thanks, GamesRadar+).

Professor Layton and the Mansion of the Deathly Mirror is a 2008 mobile game released exclusively in Japan. A year later, a 'remixed' version of the game with new puzzles was released.

As the game was never released overseas, and 2008 was a relatively early time in mobile gaming, Deathly Mirror has become a rare find. In fact, preservationists previously only had access to the first three chapters, with the final three thought to be lost.

This has now changed due to the efforts of Yuvi who discovered a copy of the game on an old Fujitsu F906i phone that appears to be in a very rough shape.

Fellow game preservationist RockmanCosmo reported on the discovery and added that a full English translation of the Mansion of the Deathly Mirror is in the works.
