Freedom Wars, an action RPG first released for the PlayStation Vita all the way back in 2014, is getting a remaster, and Freedom Wars Remastered is set to launch on modern platforms early next year.
Per a press release, Freedom Wars Remastered will arrive on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch on January 10th, although there's no mention of an Xbox Series X|S version (which is a relatively common decision when it comes to Japanese games being released in the West).
The remastered version of the game will feature exactly the kind of modern improvements you'd expect; it'll support 4K and 60fps (for current-gen platforms), and it'll also feature upgraded textures, as well as revamped gameplay mechanics, new difficulty settings, and "other gameplay upgrades".
In case you're not familiar with Freedom Wars (and I honestly wouldn't blame you, given how much of a death the PlayStation Vita died), it's an action RPG with a rather intriguing premise: you are born with a one-million-year prison sentence, and you must "survive deadly missions" for the chance to reduce that sentence.
