Dead by Daylight spinoff Project T has officially been canceled by publisher Behaviour Interactive, and not only that, but the game's development studio has also been shut down.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Behaviour says that following a playtest for Project T in July, the studio "ran a thorough internal risk assessment from a product and commercial perspective".
Behaviour goes on to say that while players "expressed appreciation" for Project T during the playtest, the outcome of the studio's "deep analysis" ultimately yielded "unsatisfactory overall results", leading to the cancellation of Project T.
Behaviour doesn't go into any more detail regarding why the results of its playtest were "unsatisfactory", and since that kind of information is likely to stay within the studio, we'll probably only find out if a former developer speaks out at some point.
Unfortunately, we're not likely to be seeing anything from the developers in their current state, because according to multiple former Midwinter developers on LinkedIn, the studio has been closed down along with Project T's cancellation.
One employee describes Midwinter's closure as "abrupt", possibly indicating that staffers perhaps weren't warned about the studio shutting down in advance, which could in turn suggest that...
