It's been a pretty big day for Yakuza/Like A Dragon fans, as developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios held its yearly showcase to bring us all the news regarding the future of the series. We knew going in that the studio was going to reveal the next game it's working on following the release of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and it has rather spectacularly delivered.
The show opened up with a trailer for a brand-new game announcement, and the rumors about a pirate game starring Majima turned out to be very accurate. In the trailer, we see Majima washing up on a beach, completely missing his memory and having absolutely no idea how he got there. We then see Majima tussle with some pirates, and the legendary Yakuza sets off on a journey to discover Madlantis.
After the trailer finishes, we find out that this rumored game is called Like A Dragon: Pirates in Hawaii, and it will be launching on February 28, 2025. It was later confirmed that this game will be ditching turn-based combat, and will be an action adventure game similar to that of Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name that was...
