The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is, of course, published by Nintendo, but the Japanese gaming giant has been characteristically quiet about who's developing it. Luckily, it looks like some Zelda fans have uncovered the truth.
As noted by Eurogamer, players who have pre-ordered Echoes of Wisdom ahead of its release next week have spotted what appears to be the game's developer contained within the copyright information in the game's eShop listing.
Honestly, the developer behind Echoes of Wisdom probably shouldn't come as a surprise; it looks like it's Grezzo, the studio responsible for the 2019 Link's Awakening remake. The two games have virtually identical visual styles, after all.
Nowadays, Nintendo is notoriously secretive about who's developing its games. Princess Peach: Showtime!, which was released earlier this year, was developed by Yoshi's Crafted World studio Good-Feel, but Nintendo wasn't exactly enthusiastic to reveal that information.
Similarly, we still don't know exactly who's going to be developing the upcoming RPG Mario & Luigi: Brothership, which was revealed during a Nintendo Direct earlier this year. One thing's for sure, though: it won't be longtime developer AlphaDream, which declared bankruptcy in 2019.
Clearly, Nintendo doesn't feel like it's under any obligation...
