Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's producer, Jun Furutani, has commented on the game's lack of crossplay and implied that it's not going to be coming post-launch.

After a very long year of waiting and seeing endless "Wishlist Now" messages, we're finally nearing the finish line as Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero releases in just a few weeks on October 11. While we now know most of the game's roster, modes, and features, there are a few things about the fourth Budokai Tenkaichi game that we don't know much about.

I didn’t think Sparking Zero could get more exciting, but the addition of GT and Movie characters has done it.

One of the biggest examples of this is Sparking Zero's online functionalities. While we know it has online modes and have heard a little about its attempt to balance some of the more overpowered characters on the roster, we've not seen much of it in action and it remains a bit of a question mark. That also applies to its crossplay functionality.
