Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has announced the Stardew Valley Update 1.6 console and mobile release date, and the massive update is due to land later this fall.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Barone confirms that Update 1.6 will arrive on all of the consoles on which Stardew Valley is currently available (and yes, that includes the Switch), as well as iOS and Android devices, on November 4th.
Barone also confirms that the update will include the 1.6.9 revision, which adds a bunch of new stuff like work portraits for Sam and Shane at JojaMart, as well as bringing balance changes and bug fixes.

He says that he releases Stardew Valley updates on PC first as a kind of "beta test" to ensure there aren't any critical bugs before releasing on console, because issues on consoles "can't be patched out as quickly".
