Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster contains a picture of Frank West's beta model from 2005, both a homage to the series' roots and potentially a tongue-in-cheek reference by Capcom to some of the discourse surrounding the appearance of Frank in the remaster.
Dead Rising fans will know that Frank West's gravelly features have changed throughout the series, especially his hairline of variable recession. When the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster was first announced, some dissatisfied fans were comparing Frank's redesigned look to his original beta mode, especially in the hair department.
As it turns out, there's an easter egg of Frank's 2005 beta model in the Deluxe Remaster. Jessica (Jessie) McCarney, the Homeland Security agent who communicates with Frank via the transceiver is more intimately familiar with West than we might have imagined.
As spotted by X user, YouTuber and massive Dead Rising fan STiP0, if you look closely at Jessie's phone during one of the cutscenes you'll see that her screen saver is none other than Frank West, circa 2005. It's likely Capcom is just referencing the series' beginnings, but it is funny that the new Frank West resembles his beta counterpart.
