Publisher Private Division and developer Wētā Workshop have revealed the Tales of the Shire release date, and the cozy hobbit game, which will let you live an idyllic life far from the likes of Ring-wraiths and Balrogs, is launching in spring.

Earlier this month, the two studios revealed a Tales of the Shire delay; the game was originally intended to launch this fall, but it was pushed back to early 2025 owing to a need for additional development time.

Now, however, it's been revealed that Tales of the Shire will launch on PC and consoles on March 25th next year. It won't be an Early Access game, either, so you'll be getting the full cozy hobbit life sim experience when it arrives.

To commemorate the release date announcement, Private Division and Wētā Workshop revealed a new trailer in which the studios describe the game as a "Lord of the Rings gaming experience like nothing that's come before".

The devs say that "every aspect" of Tales of the Shire "has been carefully crafted", and that "each bridge, path, plant, hobbit home, and second breakfast is drawn from the original vision", referring to Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien....
