Atlus and developer Vanillaware have announced that fantasy strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord has crossed a major sales barrier.
Released back in March, the game hit 500,000 sales just a few weeks after its initial launch, and now, the two studios have announced that Unicorn Overlord has officially sold a million copies across all platforms.
In order to celebrate the milestone, Atlus posted special artwork of the three characters Berengaria, Melisandre, and Rosalinde, created to mark the occasion by Unicorn Overlord artist Takashi Noma. You can take a look at that artwork below.
Atlus calls the milestone "huge" and thanks Unicorn Overlord players for helping it to reach a million sales, or, to put it in the studio's words, for "supporting the Liberation Army".
Unicorn Overlord's sales milestone is pretty impressive; after all, the game belongs to a fairly niche genre, although it's fair to say Vanillaware (whose previous works include games like 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim) has a fanbase all its own as well.
The fact that the game is published by Atlus, whose works include immensely popular RPGs like the Persona series, certainly doesn't hurt either. That title's a pretty catchy one, too.
