If you've been looking forward to multiplayer Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch, you're in luck. The update to finally bring multiplayer to Switch fans is ready to launch on Wednesday, December 12th.

Players who choose to game with others can use a current save file or create an all-new farm for up to four players, each of whom receives their own individual cabins. "The state of the Stardew Valley game world, including the main storyline, is shared between all players on the farm, as well as the pool of money you accumulate. However, each players will have their own private inventories, skills, achievements, collections, individual relationships, quests, and crafting/cooking recipes."

Nintendo Switch specific features allow players to communicate with others using the Switch online voice chat or the chat box feature that includes 200 Stardew Valley emojis. Players can also take part in couch co-op with others over a short distance "without the need for a Nintendo Switch Online account".
