If you thought Fortnite could not get any more zany after adding the likes of Goku, Mr. Incredible, Billie Eilish and Peter Griffin, then think again. That's because the gaming version of the metaverse will reportedly be adding none other than Shaquille O'Neal into the fold in early October.
You'll have to wait 18 months, but battle rewards are finally coming to the in-game shop.
According to reliable Fortnite insider Shiina, Fortnite x Shaq is due to launch on October 4. There's no word on exactly what that collaboration looks like, but it'll likely involve a playable version of the basketball star turned advertising mogul, along with other little bits and bobs.
And so, when Shaq does drop in Fortnite, he'll be just one of several real-life personalities, plus characters from various IPs to be part of Epic Games' live-service shooter. A few years ago, that would have been a wild thought, but it's just par for the course when it comes to Fortnite. It's also completely on brand for Shaq to end up in the game.
