Where there is smoke, there is likely fire, and when it comes to Tony Hawk's beloved skateboarding series, there might as well be a full on blaze. Because after the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater official social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube and Twitter) updated their profiles in celebration of the franchise's 25th anniversary, Tony Hawk himself went on the record to say that he's "been talking to Activision again" and that it's "something the fans will truly appreciate."
Flash forward to today, and on Instagram, Mr. Hawk is once again teasing something related to the iconic skateboarding franchise. In a post commemorating the exact anniversary of when the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was released (Sept. 29), Hawk concluded his celebration with this:
"I'm not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series, but there will be a future."
Like we said, there's a full on blaze happening in the land of Tony Hawk.
The important question is just what exactly does "future" mean. There are a few routes that it could take.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is approaching its quarter-century anniversary, and Activision should go all out for it.
