Hideo Kojima shared a bunch of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach footage at Tokyo Game Show last week, highlighting the unsettlingly realistic photo mode, while also revealing that the doll man is named... Dollman. But what's really interesting is that Elle Fanning's character is called 'Tomorrow'.
Fans ran with this announcement and quickly found a connection — the first Death Stranding's tagline is, "Tomorrow is in your hands", which is also the name of the final chapter in which you take BB, AKA Lou, out from their pod.
There will reportedly be no follow up to Ludens.
The leading theory right now is that Kojima was stating the obvious this whole time, that Tomorrow literally was in our hands. If fans are right, that means Elle Fanning is playing an older Lou, which has some interesting implications.
There are two major theories about why Lou would be an adult by the time of Death Stranding 2, either there's a big time skip after the first game, or it has something to do with the Beach. After all, it's important enough to be in the sequel's subtitle.
