Lords of the Fallen 2 is planned to be released in 2026 and is set to be an Epic Games exclusive on PC, according to a strategy report from publisher CI Games (thanks, Insider Gaming).
Underneath a section entitled 'Focused Plan', CI Games revealed its plans for each of the development studios in its portfolio. Hexworks, developer of Lords of the Fallen, is slated to develop a sequel to the game, with a target release year of 2026.
Lords of the Fallen 2 will be developed using Unreal Engine 5 and has received major investment from Epic Games for exclusivity rights. Several other bullet points outline CI's objectives for the sequel, including "increased appeal and accessibility," "gameplay improvements," "increased game mode optionality," "more commercial art style and narrative," and "elevated production values." There will also be shared progression co-op available as an alternative to the single-player campaign.
This is all essentially corporate terminology for 'we want the sequel to be bigger and better.'
