Dragon Age: The Veilguard's New Map Art Contains Several Easter Eggs And References

Dark Horse Direct has released an updated print of Thedas' map. The map is objectively quite cool and, luckily for discerning fans, contains a lot of Easter eggs and references to ponder endlessly until Dragon Age: The Veilguard's release at the end of the month.

Some of these observations were discussed in a Reddit thread by Ahriman-5 about the new map. One of the major talking points is the depiction of Solas as the Dread Wolf in the bottom right of the map. The Wolf is being impaled by thorns, which some are speculating represents Ghilan'nain, one of The Veilguard's big bad Elven gods.

Solas is also seen at the map header, in his bald and unharmed Elven form. We know Solas comes into conflict with Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan, with this map suggesting Fen'Harel is coming out second best in that fight.

Speaking of the dastardly deifical duo, you can also see the pair of them on the map with their respective blighted dragons. Ghilan'nain is in the top right looking displeased, and Elgar'nan appears equally unhappy in the bottom left. What's their problem, anyway? Centuries in captivity did nothing to mellow out these two grumps.
