As reported by Variety, EA has announced that The Sims 4: Life and Death will finally add an afterlife to the series, along with reincarnation and even a Grim Reaper job, this Halloween.
Reincarnation is a huge shift for the Sims life cycle, as it adds a new feature called the "Soul's Journey". How this works is by giving your Sims several goals to fulfill throughout their life to earn reincarnation. Once they're reborn, they'll have the unique Burning Soul trait, allowing them to unlock past Childhood Development Sills, Traits, and Infant Milestones, even allowing for new interactions with past friends and family.
The afterlife takes shape in the form of three "netherworldly" neighborhoods — Crow's Crossing, Whispering Glen, and Mourningvale — which can be found in the new Ravenwood world. These three "have their own connections to the shadowy passage between life and what's next," which makes for a perfect backdrop to take up the new Reaper Profession.
