The developers behind Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have suggested that the first and second Metal Gear Solid games can't get the same treatment as they would need a complete reworking.
Before Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially revealed last year, it was rumoured to be in the works for quite some time. While Snake Eater is one of the more popular games in the series and takes place before Solid Snake's missions, many fans wondered why it had been picked as the first game to get remade.

That became a lot clearer when Delta: Snake Eater's first gameplay was shown off, which confirmed that the general workings of the original game are still intact here and that it's much more of a graphical improvement with smaller quality-of-life improvements and features added.
