Solid Snake, a character as famous as the franchise that created him, is making a return to the world of games in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Snake's role has been voiced by others before, and while it was fantastic, people are eager to see the character portrayed with the original voice actor they've come to love: David Hayter.
Players are expecting to hear exactly that in the upcoming title, which - as a remake - will feature the same lines from the original games. This makes Hayter's recent statements all the more mysterious.
Solid Snake will certainly be appearing in Metal Gear Solid: Delta (big surprise). It's confirmed that Konami will re-use recordings from the old game to produce the new title, so players will hear Hayter's voice no matter what.
Everything in Hayter's message hints at a reprisal of his Solid Snake performance, but the lack of specifics has led to exactly what you'd expect. If Konami is recycling old audio, but Hayter is voicing Snake anyway, where are those recordings going?
Could it be for a promotional campaign? Additional tutorial dialogue? Never-before-seen interactions between Snake and other characters? A fan project, not linked to Konami...
