A The Last of Us fan created a cool cake that looked like it was covered in Cordyceps. Originally released in 2013, The Last of Us has received many accolades for its immersive storytelling and action-packed gameplay. Its popularity reached new heights after HBO premiered the TV adaptation starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

The Last of Us redefined the dystopian genre with its own take on zombie-like humans collectively known as Infected, who have transformed into bloodthirsty cannibals and monsters due to the Cordyceps brain infection. The Cordyceps is a parasitic fungus that originated from contaminated crops, causing the downfall of mankind in The Last of Us. It's usually shown as a clump of mushroom-like growths on infected humans and on various surfaces in the game's world.
