"Multiple" New Halo Games In Development

As part of a larger reveal during Sunday's Halo World Championships, "multiple" new Halo projects have been confirmed to be in the works by Halo Studios. That reveal also saw 343 Industries rebrand themselves as Halo Studios.

A new Halo game isn't imminent, according to a post on Xbox Wire, and Halo Infinite isn't losing its support anytime soon. That game and the Slipspace Engine that it runs on will still be supported for the foreseeable future.

“We should talk about things when we have things to talk about, at scale," studio head Pierre Hintze said. "... The next step will be talking about the games themselves.”

The year is 2007. The day is September 25. The mission is to finish the fight.

To that end, the studio is willing to confirm that there are multiple games being developed. Whereas Halo Infinite and its Slipspace Engine required an all-hands-on-deck like approach, the move to Unreal allows Halo Studios to repurpose its staff.

“We had a disproportionate focus on trying to create the conditions to be successful in servicing Halo Infinite,” says Hintze. “[But switching to Unreal] allows us to put all the focus on making multiple new experiences...
