As we close in on Halloween, there's no shortage of horror games on people's minds. It's one of the reasons why Alien: Isolation was released in October, ten years ago.
And now, almost exactly ten years after the release of one of the best horror games of all time, a sequel has been confirmed. Alien: Isolation is getting a sequel.
This information comes to us through Alien: Isolation's official X page, celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the game with a special thank-you to players and an announcement that they've all been waiting for.
Needless to say, this news has left fans ecstatic. A ten-year-wait was one thing, but negative publisher sentiment is a whole other beast. Quite infamously, SEGA considered Alien: Isolation to be a failure, despite its sales numbers.
"Performing below expectations" is a tough challenge for any game to overcome, and for most of those ten years, many suspected that Alien: Isolation would never find a successor.
And yet, despite the crushing weight of a corporation's bottom line, fans got to hear the words they so desperately wanted to hear.
