Baldur's Gate 3 party member Wyll has suffered from one behavioral bug that's stuck around for a while now, but it turns out that the fix is actually incredibly simple. For the most part, Wyll is one of the nicest Origin characters in the game, with a consistent penchant for doing good that not everyone happens to share. He's still capable of being rude, however, and a bug that affected the way he greets the player character has been making him seem especially standoffish.
As discovered by Tumblr user autistichalsin and shared by bongcommunism on Reddit, the entire problem with Wyll's negative greetings stems from one line of code. The trigger for Wyll to start conversations with "You've got something to say?", which is only supposed to happen with a negative approval rating, is missing an "=false", making him say it in every scenario.
For PC users who don't mind mods, there's already an option to address the problem. Nexus Mods user lesleynopes uploaded a fix, which should essentially flip the switch to let Wyll start conversations according to his real approval rating and not a default negative one.
