Silent Hill 2 is a game all about mystery, with a hefty helping of spookiness and depression thrown in there for good measure. After receiving a letter from his thought-to-be-dead wife, James Sunderland journeys to the small town of Silent Hill (which was recently confirmed to be in Maine) to find out exactly what's going on. By the end, you're left with far more questions than answers, including about Mary's whereabouts.

If you're planning to play Silent Hill 2 for the first time with this recently released remake, and you're somehow still not spoiled on a game that's 25 years old, you may want to duck out now.

Of course, if you've played the original Silent Hill 2, you'll know that the whereabouts of Mary is explained throughout the game. You find out that James killed Mary himself, and that the entire town of Silent Hill and the monsters within are actually manifestations of his guilty conscience. Pretty scary stuff, but that still doesn't give us the answer to where Mary's body is.
