Tekken 8 Reviews Drop To Mostly Negative After DLC Controversy

Tekken 8's Steam reviews have come crashing back down to mostly negative, after the latest wave of review bombing. This is in response to a new DLC stage being added alongside Heihachi, charging players an extra $4.99 even if they'd already purchased the DLC pass.

As a result, the recent reviews of the game are now listed as mostly negative, with the overall reviews being mixed. This is despite many players loving the gameplay itself, and only taking issue with the monetisation practices that have crept in since launch.

If you take a look at the reviews, many of them mention the stage DLC, which sets you back $4.99. Considering this is on top of the game having both a battle pass and a yearly DLC pass to unlock new characters, the last thing players wanted was yet another paywall.

The stage itself, Genmaji Temple, has been met with very negative reviews since it went live on October 1. However, once again, this is due to its monetisation more than anything else, as many argue that it should have either been free or included in the DLC pass.
