Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has only been released to a portion of its potential players, with the game's Ultimate Edition dropping Tuesday, but it seems like it's going to go onto big things.

The first person to develop modding tools "that allow custom assets" for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will be awarded $500 in Steam vouchers.

The opening 36 hours for the first title in the Budokai Tenkaichi series for almost 15 years has seen a number of records tumble, including the most-played fighting game in Steam history.

According to SteamDB, Thursday night in the US saw a whopping 91,005 players jump into Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero on Steam, a phenomenal effort for a game that has yet to fully launch.

This number has seen the game eclipse the previous record for the most concurrent players in a fighting game on Steam, which was set by Street Fighter 6 in June last year. At the time, Street Fighter managed 70,540 players, meaning Sparking Zero has achieved an almost 30 percent increase.
