The Silent Hill 2 remake has, like clockwork, stirred up controversy for being "woke". One of the biggest pieces of evidence to that point is a neon sign in a strip club that people are upset at for being "bodypositive", even believing that it's part of some "fetish for pregnancy". That same sign was in the original.
It was first brought to the 'anti-woke' crowd's attention by a now-deleted post on the "Kotaku in Action" subreddit, which then went viral on social media as Twitter users like former Blizzard Entertainment producer Mark 'Grummz' Ken shared it with the same sneering anger.
Even the Kotaku in Action forum dubbed this backlash "bullsh*t", removing the post as the "Sign had the same shape in the original."
Commenters doubled down despite being told that this isn't new to the remake, saying that the original "has a significantly flatter stomach" and that the new one — which looks the same, just in a slightly different pose — looks "fat or pregnant". As you can see for yourself in the picture below, that's blatantly untrue.
