Nintendo is flying high today with the announcement that, not only did it beat its estimated Switch sales goal, but it crushed it! Originally the company hoped to sell 14 million Switch consoles. To date, Nintendo Switch units have surpassed the 18 million mark.
Switch has been on sale since March 17, 2017 which means that it is selling at a rate of over 1.5 million units per month. Its sales have likely been heavily bolstered by such perennial favorites as Super Mario Odyssey's 10 million copies sold and the addition of a robust and wide-ranging library of titles with a lot more on the way.
